Turbulence_Commission

Update 6/29/12: Per the request of Miss Smith, she was pleased overall with the original. However she did ask if I could 1.) lighten her skin complexion, 2.) lighten her lips to almost the color of her powers, and 3.) make her hair look like Kim Kardashian's. I'm glad that she did ask me to go back and change some things, as I realize just how lackluster the original was! I changed all of those things she requested as well as straightened out a few other things that were a little wonky. This looks MUCH better!

Well, here's my first official paid commission!!! After showing some of my co-workers my artwork, my friend/co-worker Tomika wanted me to draw her as a superheroine and offered to pay cash money for my work! She gave me free reign over everything, the only rule that she set was that I had to make her BAD...not a bad guy, but SEXY BAAAAAAD

So I introduce to everyone Turbulence!!! Turbulence is a mild, mannered server by day and metapowered crime-fighter at night! Turbulence has the ability to manipulate kinetic energy, creating powerful force blasts from her body as well as she can create a force field around her body to protect her from extreme harm. She also has above-average strength, speed, and can also fly! Evil doers and criminals beware...Turbulence will put a' hurtin' on ya and look good while kickin' that ass!!!

I was gonna name her "Twerk". For those of you that don't know, according to the Urban Dictionary "Twerk" means to to work one's body, as in dancing, especially the rear end. The story behind that is that a bunch of us went out to a club right up the block from where we work for another co-worker's going away party. Tomika was "twerkin' it" on the dance floor and shakin' I was amazed, for Tomika is usually mild mannered, but she was gettin' it on that dance floor...needless to say, I was VERY impressed and entranced by the shaking of her derriere! But, I instead went with the Turbelence idea!

The pose came out a bit stiff, and I actually switched a lot of things from the original pencils. I had her wearing a visor, plus her hair was poofier...however Tomika later told me that she wanted for her hair to be long and flowing. (That was my fault...I asked her how did she want her hair after the fact ) But, there are some aspects of this piece that I really like how they came out...like her eyes and her vuluptuousness! And the moon and cloud came from brushes that I downloaded from here on DA...the Moon is Blue b/c the name of the restaurant where Tomika and I (used to) work is called Blue Moon Pizza!

I sure hope she likes it...she wants to blow this up, frame it, and put it on her wall in her house. I'm cool with that and I think I might start opening up commissions up on the regular just to help supplement my income a bit!
