Ladies and gentlemen...I present to you this fan art of one of my favorite original characters of all of DA, the super sexy and badass Nia Black (No relation to my gal Claire Black [link] ) created by my DA homie ! Seriously, asides from my own OC's, Nia has got to be in my top 3 favorite OCs here on DA! I've been wanting to do a fan art of her for some time now...I actually started on a potential fan art pic, but it looked horrible and I wanted to do Nia justice when I finally submitted her.

For those of you that aren't familiar with Nia, she's a sassy gun for hire with enhanced abilities such as superhuman strength, agility, healing, and other things...very much like my gals Angie and Sapphira. (Perhaps that's why I like her so much) She has some amazing superhuman abilities, but with her character flaws...such as her love of money...and such makes her just as human as a normal person. She has a kickass twin sister by the name of Shauntia [link] (the one with the lovely booty on the left) that's an expert with swords...they don't always see eye to eye with one another, but above everything else they are still sisters and will back up one another when they need to.

I don't know if he knows it or not, but =Dualmask aka JP (Johnathan Price) has been one of the biggest reasons as to why my art has gotten tremendously better in such a short time. He has a great eye for art techniques and such and has offered priceless critiques on many of my deviations, pointing out my strengths and weaknesses and other nuances of my art to focus on. His advice has been golden, as I see the improvement in my own work after taking his advice along with several other folks that thoroughly critique my work and a bunch of comic art technique books that I own. I've still got a looooong way to go when it comes to improving my artwork, but I really appreciate the advice that JP has given to me thus far!

Along with wanting to do a Nia pic and for JP giving me some great advice, he also did some really cool pics of both Simone [link] and Angie [link] and to get all three birds with one stone, I decided to finally give Nia another shot. I liked how she came out for the most part...she came out a lot smaller than what I normally do, which is odd b/c Nia's supposed to have a little extra meat on her bones. I used a ref. pic which originally had her right arm straighten out instead of bent and pointing the gun up in the air...I ran out of room! (A reoccurring problem of mine) I also implemented my Manga inking pens...I'm still getting used to them, but I like the way the shading with the inking pens came out! I plan on going back and coloring this pretty soon...as I'm sure that JP would like to see this colored just as much as I would!

For my watchers, I don't know if you've noticed...but asides from cyborg gals I have a thing for gunslinger girls too! I've been planning on doing a group pic of some of my favorite gunslinger gals here on DA including Nia here, 's Inez Moreno [link] , 's La Femme Punisher [link] and my cybergal gunslinger Simone [link] It's an idea that I've had dancing in my head for a while now...I just need to do it!
