Gunz Are Drawn_WIP

The title of this piece actually comes from a song by my favorite band, The Roots called "Guns Are Drawn" [link] I'm not sure if that's what I want to name this one...I was thinking of the title to another Hip Hop song "Time 4 Sum Aksion" by Redman [link] I don't know...what do y'all think?

Alright...here's a cool little piece that I've been working on for the past few days whenever I could find some time to work on it...I really need to get faster with my pencil work! After coloring some of my older pics of her, I was itching to draw a new pic of Simone. (For my watchers and Simone fans, I told you I ALWAYS come back to Simone at the end of the day!) I wanted to do something that showed her in action, as most of her pics are static poses of her just standing there...she is a warrior cyborg soldier, so why don't I show her being a warrior cyborg soldier for a change?

I found that pose in one of my instructional comic art technique books and gave it the Mr. Marcus treatment...so I flipped my drawing tablet sideways landscape-style and started going to town on Miss Rattica! Only thing is, I started too far over to the left and it cut off her right hand! I was just gonna leave it like that, but I also got the idea of adding Deuce in the pic...as Deuce is often partnered up with Simone on extra hazardous missions where extra firepower is called for. I was thinking of ways to throw her in the negative space, and it just so happens that I found a feasible pose for Deuce on the very same page as I found Simone's pose! Of course, being that Deuce is behind Monie and a little farther away, I drew her a little smaller to give it a perspective feel of her being off in the distance...plus I was going for Simone's pose to really jump off of the page and be all in your face as well! (The gun in Monie's left hand was a BITCH to draw in a perspective sense!)

So after some tweaking here and there, and finding time to finish the damn pencils...here's my badass gunslinger cyborg war machine gals Project: Genesis (Simone) and Cy-2 (Deuce) getting ready for one helluva battle! As you see, Simone's words are stiff and precise while trying to be lighthearted by asking Deuce is she ready to rock...to her computer systems "rocking out" is illogical and trivial, but that's Simone's human side coming out. Of course, Deuce doesn't miss a beat and you see that her words are all lighthearted...she even makes light of her "being assembled ready". Although both gals are almost full blown robots, I want my audience to care about them and realize that they're still human underneath it all and they're still women with feelings and emotions. Why can't they have a little fun from time to time?

I LOVE how Simone came out! She looks better than she has EVER looked to me...she's the perfect mix of beauty, strength, toughness, and cyborg. Her right arm is a little off, but I don't think it wrecks the picture. Deuce on the other hand...she seems a little stiff, but I didn't have much room to work with for her. Perhaps she'll pop out when I splash her with some color, which you can expect to see colored very soon!
